Jeffery...Nov/Dec have been a challenge for you! I am glad that all went well with replacing your glasses. I wear contacts most of the time, but without them or my glasses, I would be lost. Driving would be out of the question and I would just have to hope that I could walk into a room without walking INTO a room!
Sometimes I wish I could wear contacts. Problem with that is there's something about my eyes that makes it virtually impossible for me to wear them.

Morning, everyone.

It's a sunny day here in the Southland now that our storms have moved off into the Atlantic. It's up to 52 degrees so not bad for December.

Nice to see you again, Sandy. Yes, I drive my wife nuts if we watch cop or medical shows. I'm constantly saying "They wouldn't really do that!". :) Having driven over Interstate 70 through Eisenhower Tunnel in a few blizzards, I'd say I was a little of a white knuckler too, especially when you run into one of those famous Colorado 40 car pileups. The storm that's headed towards you is going to bring a lot of high winds too so start your bread and milk panic now.

Jeffrey, how did you ever accumulate so many old powerpacks?

Phillip, it looks like you're good and ready for the day. :D

Steve, Carey is buying whatever you want. My wallet is empty from buying yesterday. How's your foot?

Need to get the Christmas stuff up today and I really don't have mcuh ambition to do it. I just don't feel much like Christmas this year. Am I the only one?

Hi all! Hope you are ready for a good weekend.

The snow sled has been put back into the garage and the sled dogs have been released from standby duty. The weather: What a crock!:(
I've been doing the final cleanup in the depot today and finally have everything working except the Y6b sounds. They will be shipped off Monday. We can still use them during the ARG (if the sissy diesel fans aren't afraid of them :D)

Hi SANDY! Glad to see you. Yes, I need to post a photo of the Bama boys. They just turned 6 months and are somewhere around 50 pounds each. They go wide open all the time...well, when they are not busy digging up the entire backyard.

Carey: have a safe trip. If the UP bulls get you, they may send you off to East-Los Angeles to work on the railgang.

Philip: those are fitting and funny attachments you had this morning. Kind of accurate for me each day.

Steve: You sure you can't make this ARG??? Danged fellow, you had better start showing up or we will have to revoke your membership.:p

Chris: You going to make it tomorrow. You can be TrainBoss.

Afternoon.

Done with classes, got 2 finals and it is time for winterbreak.

And nothing starts a good winterbreak like the power steering pump in your car going out.

Hi all! Hope you are ready for a good weekend.
Chris: You going to make it tomorrow. You can be TrainBoss.

REX, if I lived in your state I would be the first one there:D But the long distance, cold weather, and the fact that I'm super lazy.......Keeps me in florida! LOL's

Jim Same as always, it looks like my toes are fusing together slowly but surely, not a clue why just on one foot though.

RexOne day i'll make it, just like one day Auburn will beet the Crimson tide ;)

off to bed
later ya'll

I was looking at some snowfall totals for Louisiana from the last storm. We got hardly any snow here but Amite (a-meet), which isn't far from New Orleans, got 8 inches. That's unheard of!

Good morning yall,

Rex I'm looking forward to seeing the pix of today's ARG op session. Hopefully the gremlins won't invade.

Phillip that was an inspiring story for sure, thanx for sharing it.

Jim good luck with putting up the Christmas lights and decorations. I'll be doing a lot of indoor prep since my wife is hosting the neighborhood women's Bible Study group and wants the house to look like a real estate model  I agree with you, a lot of this year's "Christmas joy" seems like whistling past the graveyard.

Steve best of luck with that foot issue. This seems to have been a tough year for you medically as it has for Jeff and Carey. Good thing you have that train er-tank hobby to help take your mind off these things...

Speaking of wintertime driving: I spent all day Friday driving up to Ohio to bring my daughter from college for the holiday break. There was a good bit of snow falling on the PA Turnpike, which made driving on those steep hills and sharp curves a bit of an adventure! But the Maintenance crews had applied several layers of salt, so at least the roads were keep passable. [That is why I took the Turnpike instead of the so-called "scenic" route I normally follow in the warmer months.]

Maybe, in spite of all the honey dues, I can still get some more work done on my cement silos today - especially spray painting. I'm using Floquil rattle cans outside so I'll need an hour of wind-free daylight to do that.

Have a good'un

Good morning.

It's 42 and clearin the Sportsman's Paradise. The high will be in the mid 60's and it will be partly cloudy.

Yesterday I finally got my SPSF Kodachrome GP38-2 running well after going through two bum motors. They work but any locomotive they're put in will make a snail look like it's turbo-charged. For now it has a Bachmann 1 amp decoder but will get upgraded to a Digitrax DZ125 as soon as I can get my hands on one. Cash is pretty tight right now and train stuff is just not in the budget. Imagine my surprise yesterday when I check my snail mail and find a small box containing not one, but two 1:87 vehicles. A Hot Wheels VW Bug and a Reel-Rides Mini Cooper. There was no return address on the package though the post-mark indicates it came from Detroit Michigan. Whoever sent it, you know who you are, you have my thanks. You made my day.

I plan to get a Dwarf Fuzzy Lion fish if they got's one:D and some salt for my tank! then finish the evening with a BBQ.....Got Ribs:pand beer:D Have a good day everyone!

Good afternoon folks

It is a cold and windy 33 F. The wind chill is down around 20 F. High today under a clear sky will be 37 F.

We did some Christmas shopping last night and have more to do today. We are going to try to visit the new hobby shop that replaced Mitchell’s. It is a close of blocks away from Mitchell’s on US 202 in Wilmington, DE.

No modeling last night.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Hi all from beautiful, and slightly wet, North Little Rock!

I hope to get some shots of the trains here, one main line runs 1 block from my daughter's house. If the weather improves. Kinda cool!

We may be leaving here a day early. The forecasts are all calling for ice mixed with rain and both LR and Memphis are called for hazardous conditions on the roads after Sunday, so we may bug out early. Don't want to have to spend 8-10 hours just trying to get to Memphis, which would be my luck.

Been a good Christmas season so-far! I've gotten my wife something I know she will like! Daughter's gifts to us may remain wrapped until Christmas mornin'. She told me specifically, no peeking! She musta gone to the hobby shop!

Well, gotta go! Daughter says I'm hogging the computer.

Good afternoon to Everyone,
Thought I stop by and say Hi!

Had a change of direction so railroading is on the slow side right now.
Hope things are going along well for everyone, talk with you later.

Well, I started The grill up and grilling some nice country style ribs.....Wife for got to get me some beer:( o'well. The LFS didn't have any Fuzzy Dwarf Lion Fish:( But I did get my salt for the next two water changes:) I got a batch of fresh salt water brewing in the garage for tomarrow water change! The kids are having fun they are drooling for the ribs! the smell of wood and char coal aloft in the cool evening air:) all I need is some beer:(:D

Evening fellow modelers.

Tonight I am going to sit down and maybe plan some of the railroad out. I have to scratch build some buildings, and I am thinking of the best way to design this stuff.

Just a quick note from Little Rock. Been waiting on my son to get off the computer!;)

Looks like we will be headed home in the morning.:( Both LR and Memphis NWS has issued watches for ice starting tomorrow, so we're gonna be headed back before it gets here. Busted trip. Couldn't get any pictures, (rained some) and the wifey and daughter slipped off to the hobby shop without me. My camera was in the car.

Well, I'm good and tired from the drive up and back to Rex's place but it was worth every minute. That is one heck of a layout and having seven other guys to run with just made it that much better. I'm sure Rex is even more beat since he did all the heavy lifting to get everything just right for the ops session. A good time was had by all.

Need to hit the hay so I can make it to church tomorrow and not have the wife ill with me. Hope everyone had anywhere near as good a day as me.

morning all,
Chris Any Ribs left, i could eat one right now for breakfast.
Carey We have had ice on the roads for around the last month, it all went away a couple of days ago but not before some very spectacular accidents, i went to work sideways on a few occasions, very good fun in the little Suzuki 4x4, they are great on ice !!!

May go and see if i can spot the dear down the wood's in a moment

later
