Crusty Old Geezer
Hello, all,
Seems a bit crowded in the ol' Coffee Shop today. At least no one has taken my seat. Coffee here, Flo, dear.
Dan, I was wanting to take a bike ride(motorcyle) last night. The better half suggested taking one of the "hot rods" to the root beer stand for a "dog and suds". Being diabetic, and not having used my "free day" this week we ventured out. Since the old '41 Willys was the easiest to get out of the garage we took it. I'd been having trouble with it overheating. Did a fix by using an old "sprint car" trick and running additional water lines by adding a "spacer" to the thermostat housing and running additional lines to each of the cylinders. Seems to have worked. Stopped by the local stand after our Thursday prayer session at church. That car sure turns heads. Not often one sees a candy black cherry red '41 Willys, with a 3" chop, street rod on the streets. And the hot dogs, with everything of course, were absolutely DELICIOUS!!! The diet root beer wasn't bad either. Gotta watch this svelte figure, ya know.
Jim, the guys don't use charcoal lighter for lighting the fires. They use gasoline. I heard once, I wasn't a part of the group then, that they all had to empty their bladders to douse a fire during a previous venture. I hope they had aim good enough to miss the steaks. Enjoy your trip.
Rex, just repaired my roof a couple of months ago. I'm here to testify that it is a long way down. The fall wasn't bad, but that sudden top at the bottom was a killer. Still recuperating from that. I keep forgetting that I'm 56, not 26. And the roast beef sandwiches sound pretty tasty. I'll have the better half get to the deli and pick up a couple of pounds. Add a bit of cheese and some horseradish and I'll be good to go. Well, maybe a Coor's Light or two, too.
I've got the guys coming over tomorrow to work on the nursing home layout. I have to make another trip to the LHS for some "stuff". It seems that I always have enough of everything except "stuff". Have you guys ever been in that predicament?
Have a good one. I'll try to stop in later.
By the way, Flo, since we have a new guy here, put the coffee on his bill. I'm sure he won't mind.
Bob
