Karl - better keep Midnight locked up if I visit, otherwise I might steal him! :D:D Black cats are my favorite, I had one when I was a teenager. He was a hefty fella, must have weighed ~15 lbs and all of it muscle. We had to euthanize him when he was 8yrs old because he had some chronic respiratory infection, snot was always pouring out of his nose.

the recliner IS his! you'll just have to accept that. :)

Psycho trivia:
the TOP horse trainer (show horses, that is) is George Morris. He's been the Chef d'Equip and coach of the US show jumping team for centuries.

he was also the gas station attendant in the movie.

:D

Afternoon.

Got the desktop back up and running. In good fashion something else on my car had to brake (pun intended). My rear drum brakes are locking up in reverse, and only some of the time.

......my son whose birthday is today.......

I hear the voices.....

:D :D

at the train show, I was immersed in a book about train wrecks when a gentleman came and stood beside me.

he LOOKED perfectly normal.

however.

he seemed to be carrying on a converstation with someone. an invisible someone.
in a strange sort of language, possibly martian. ( I grew up in a very mixed neighbourhood. I would have recognized an EARTH language. :D )

every now and again, he would throw in a sort of sound effect that you might hear in an alien space invader type movie.

ziiiiip PING! yyyeeeeewoooo. bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzbp! in a high pitched tone.

quietly, though. so he wasn't disturbing anyone.

it was like standing next to John Cleese doing Monty Python.

definitely the highlight of my day. :D

Evening.

Nice long day of doing nothing today. Beautiful outside. Ran up to the hobby store and got some testors plastic cement. Now I can start putting together a couple kits!

But first I probably should finish my homework. Also found another book to read.

Been working on the layout today. The foundation walls for the north engine house are shaping up. Photo is in the 'Weekly Photo Fun' in the 'Showin' Off' section in 'General Discussions'.

'Spring' is cuddled up between my arms so I'm back to the two finger hunt and peck mode---:):)--

Got a couple of odd duck models I'm working on---a two stall run-through engine house from something called Graham Farish and a small IHC shopping district---distinctly 1970/80's-ish.:):)

Sparky, I'm taking a guess here, but GM cars (A,J,L,N and X bodies) had that as a chronic ailment for years. Generally caused by aftermarket shoes. Usually a light turning of the drums and a set of genuine GM shoes fixed em!
Hope this helps.

Ken Nooooooooo! I'll clue you in on what I already know....he HATES car rides. The car ride home (included a stop at the vet) was complete with howling, whining and hyperventilating. After my son got the bright idea to let him out of the carrier he was a lot calmer in the car. So much calmer that he relieved himself on the back seat!! Picture, if you will, 3 people on a 50 degree day, driving 60 mph with the windows down, trying to breath!!!:eek::eek: ACK!!:eek::eek: Thank goodness we used the car with the leather seats......it wiped up easier!

Oh, and it's not just the recliner now. Today he claimed the futon in the basement, and the ottoman in the living room. Plus one small corner of our bed. I wonder what he will claim tomorrow???

Not GM.

I haven't been able to get the problem to occur other than the 3 times it has happened. I will probably pull the drums apart Thursday and see if anything is amiss.

Good evening. It was 99 here today, down from a high of 110 yesterday. Not a cloud in the sky. It is supposed to be a high of 60 in a couple of days, talk about erratic temps...
Larry, sorry to hear about the job. Every time I start thinking about how bad I have it at work, I realize at least I have a job.

Dan, when you take those brakes apart, make sure the star wheel is free from rust and corrosion. It will adjust the brakes tighter to the drum when you apply the brakes in reverse. If it binds though, it an cause a lockup.
