and breakfast is READY! toast was done traditionally, in the toaster.

eggs were done entirely on the bed of the pickup truck.

I can't WAIT for it to be that warm again. :)

Aww, now quit teasing me! Thats just not nice! Now I'm not gonna keep an eye out for ya......I'm gonna come lookin' for ya! :D

We'll have to take a 5-hour road trip from here. The Indian is at the new house in Michigan. It's the darkest red I've ever seen!!! But it's stock. I had it on the market over the winter. People wanted me to give it away.

I thought to myself that I don't have to feed it, might as well keep it.

Hello---just got in from doing a dang seminar for the Woodstock crew for work:mad:--lotsa fun:confused::(

LTF Check PM--she might be able to swing it ----;)--if not she has others;):D BTW--Don't do it by going into deeep into that ol' wallet of your'n. You do some huntin' you'll find stuff. I tend to wait until about an hour before close---then the deal making starts:D:D:D. I got away with a couple of brass USRA 2-8-2's for 2/$60 and a couple of brass frames and such for $20 for the 2 of 'em;);)

The show was good--got a bit nutsy at times which is a good sign---and the Woodstock turn was also good. It's making this fellow think of joining:p;) Ran into Ray---another forum member here and spent some time jawing----

I've got a little 'Spring' to attend to----catch up with you all inna bit;)

Good morning from Ye Olde London Towne. Tis a beautiful sunny day 10c going up to 21c and not a cloud in the sky. I've managed to wrangle a couple of days off so I'm getting caught up on a few things. The train shed is coming along slowly. The insulation is about half way there. Just waiting for the supplier to restock so I can get the rest of the styrofoam sheets delivered and installed. The test shelf 'plank' has the track down and all the foam in place. Just need to start shaping it a bit more. I may just take the bloody thing out into the garden as the original foam cutting took hours to clean up.

I now have 3 good rock moulds made from genuine Montana Rocky Mountain stone. (don't ask why or how I came to have quantities of US 2 roadside fall in the UK, ask SWMBO and her gardening addiction ;)) Another 3 or 4 and there will be enough variety to start casting the scenery.

Spent Saturday at the club's monthly work/running session. Looks like I'll be doing a couple of modules for their modular layout. There was also some encouragement to modify the design for 'Essex' so its compatible. Not sure on that yet, but who knows.

I've finally decided to try some sound in a couple of locos. Still not totally convinced but.... This year's train bonus has been partially spent on sound decoders for the ever growing Canadian/US fleet.

Flo, just leave the coffee pot here on the table. I'll take good care of it, I promise .

Have a good day all.

Good Morning--Rainy day for us with the high going all the way up to 8C!!:rolleyes: We're expecting another full day of rain, wind, raw temps and all that fun stuff there:rolleyes::rolleyes:;)

LTF The back of a pick up truck on a hot day?--might as well do all the cooking there!!:):)---Audrey--my artist wife--saw that---yes she can remember doing that on the farm when she was younger!!!:D:D:D

Have a lighter day--get to see 2 clients today---gonna be a short one---

Flo- I'll have a IV bag of rawcaffeine and a couple a eggs thanks----

Good morning folks

It was 45 F and raw as I headed into work this morning. Our high will be 69 F. I will believe it when I see it. Yesterday with the rain, wind, and chill it felt like February instead of mid-April. It has been one cold spring in these parts.

My commute to and from work may get more interesting. We had to close a bridge on my back-up route yesterday. A big section of one the wing walls collapsed. When I went home last night I saw the crews working on it and figured it was going to be closed. Now when my main way gets fouled up I am going to have to find an alternate for my alternate.

Last night I had to take my FIL to Wal-mart so he could do some last minute birthday shopping for my son whose birthday is today. I also had to work on scout stuff in preparation for tomorrow night’s Arrow of Light and Crossover.

Tonight we will have a little celebration for him. My daughter has flute lesson and after flute lesson we will be taking him to pick up his new Nintendo DSi.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Good morning.

It's 56 and sunny. The high is projected to be in the low 80's and it will be partly cloudy.

I got some layout work done yesterday. The new town hall is now in it's place at the back of the layout but there's some cockup with the lights in it. Got to correct that when I can. Cahnged out the lights in the Belvedere hotel and in the foundry. Lakeside shipping (there's not a lake in sight!) got a new addition and the north engine house got a nice big machine shop. As to what will get done today, who knows. It's a new day. There was some action on the fire front yesterday. Not a fire but rather a power line incident. A truck snagged some power lines hanging across the Texas Highway (Nolan trace) and pulled them down, pulling down several poles in the process. 911 called our dept to go so I went to help with traffic control. Once the authorities had things in hand I came back home. Other than that it was an uneventful day.

Good morning shop dwellers,

I see Tom has already provided a weather report [btw congrats to your son!] for the mid-Atlantic region so I'll skip that. My 19yr-old is safely back in Ohio after driving the Honda up there yesterday - I had been a bit apprehensive because this was her first solo long-distance car trip, she's "navigationally challenged" and the weather was crappy.

I tried to sneak-in some modeling time by getting up an extra hour early this morning. Shoulda stayed in bed; I tried a risky strategy for anchoring a decal to a piece of plain white styrene by putting some white PollyScale acrylic paint under it. Unfortunately some of the white paint got to the top [visible] surface of the decal and I ripped it when I tried to clean it off. My backup decal was slightly larger, so I had to cut out a new sign board and drill a hole into it for the mounting rod. During this process the pin vise went astray and punctured a finger, so I got blood all over everything. In the end I wound up with my project being at exactly the same stage of completion as it had been before I started. Oh well maybe I can get some stuff done tonight...

Where be everybody. This place looks like a ghost town on the old westerns. Well I am now unemployed again. I pulled a boneheaded idiotic stunt Fri nite and it cost me my job. My wife said she thought I had done a good job of keeping my temper under control of which I had until the incident. Oh well life goes on and I am sure I will find something in the not to distant future.

Good morning folks.

My wife got up at five thirty today. Therefore, I got up at five thirty. Oh well, I wanted to get a bunch of modeling done today anyway.:)

CSX, it sounds like you should have stayed in bed for sure!:D

I just finished putting a coat of base paint on the entire river valley. Holy cow does that take awhile when there's so much texture. Good thing I had an old brush. I had started to finish the last section of trestle before I found a problem. While inspecting it, I found that I had glued the stringer on sideways. Good thing I caught it now before I made it much further! There would have been super elevation on a straight bridge, not good! I can't tell you how nice it is to see tan paint. Almost all of it will be covered, but I wanted to seal the plaster underneath.

I'm planning to go to the store to find a suitable rock and gravel for my river. I was going to use WS talus, but I think it may be too round. We'll see what I find.

I hope you have a great day!

Larry: I hope you can find another job soon. I once went three years between jobs because they were so scarce here and I couldn't afford to move.

Morning gang!
Flo, coffee & pancakes, keeps um coming til I say when!;)
KenL, ouch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bad enough you hurt yourself, but got blood all over the project? Bad news !! Hope tonight brings better modeling time!
Tom Please pass our Happy B-day wishes on to your son.
Larry, Sorry to hear about the job loss

I did get the Psycho house finished yesterday, now I have to plant it on a module.........pics will be coming once planted. I will say this much. I had never heard of Polar Lights kits before this, but if I decide I need another, I'll buy one in a second. It has been a long time since I've built a structure kit that fit this well together. Once the sprue nubs are cleaned off, the panels all fit perfectly. No modifying, sanding, filing of otherwise massaging parts to get a good fit.:)
If anyone is interesting in a great house kit, type in polar lights psycho house kit in ebay and you will find the kit..its at 25 bucks at this point (I paid 10 for mine at a train show) And I did NOT give it the spooky old house look....it's quite respectable looking.
Finally meet my new buddy....View attachment 13560
Midnight.
13.4 pounds of kitten (11 yrs young)
Originally he was my wife's cat, but became a P.O.W. during her divorce. Now her Ex's new girlfriend is allergic, so rather than send him to the pound, we went and got him. We've had him since Saturday, and all has been fine, except he seems to think my recliner is his!!!
Well, module time (too wet to cut grass!), catch y'all later!
