Evening, everyone.
Karl, I'd never claim enough knowledge to be anyone's broker but the pros seem to be doing a better job of losing money than I have so far. If you have the stomach for risk, check out RFN and RFW. Just bought RFW today, which double shorts the entire S&P 500. I've owned RFN, which double shorts the S&P financials, for a week and I'm up just a little under 30% in a week.

Just make sure you have sell and stop loss orders in place if you're going to start messing around with short selling.
Good idea to get the kids out of the house and working. We all spend way too much inside lately. We've had some beautiful cardinals down here this winter but I think they are stating to head north again. I had duck sitting in my oak tree last week, quaking away at me. First time I've seen a duck in a tree. I think he was possessed or something.
Chris, we indeed have change, like an 8.1% unemployment rate and GM closing at its lowest price since April 4, 1933. Just wasn't the kind of change I was hoping for.

If things get bad enough, we can all go live under Rex's layout. He has plenty of room for a big crowd. Our wives might not like it but just think of all the fun we could have playing with our trains.
Corey, I hate cleaning our flooded basements. Ours used to flood all the time when I was a kid in Ohio and I had to go muck it out. I'm glad mine has remained dry so far. Sounds like the highway bridge next to the trestle will be a nice touch.
BOC, atriums are tricky to engineer in real life so I can imagine it's even worse with a model. You have to post some pictures soon so we can see what you're doing.
Tom, the upside is that most other engineering and construction firms are going under. The downside is that everything will have to be done yesterday to meet the stimulus goals. I don't envy your position. If I was you, I'd at least work an hour's nap in sometime this weekend.
Jeffrey, I never did have a soldering iron turn into a torch on me but I had a propane torch turn into a flame thrower. I don't know what happened but some part broke inside the knob thing and that baby was shooting out 5 foot flames.

I managed pitch it out into the driveway and let it burn itself out with out any serious damage except to my nerves. Last time I use of those things.
Ken, sometimes it's business over pleasure. You look at money a whole different way when you realize it's the only money you'll have to live on for the rest of your life. I told my kids that my goal was to die with one dollar in my estate so they wouldn't be spoiled and it looks like I may reach that goal. Thanks for thinking of me though.
Phillip, it must be much easier to banish that office riding the bike and chasing trains. Sounds like a great stress reducer. Must also be when God seems a little closer too.
My motorhome developed a leak right at the front in one of the cabinets during the heavy rain we had last week. It was finally warm enough to get up there and see what was happening. Good grief! I'm amazed I didn't have a leak earlier. There are seams at the front and the back that join the fiberglass end caps to the aluminum frame. I had them all resealed before I left California in 2005. A couple of summers in Alabama more or less destroyed them. I scrapped all the loose stuff off I could and used a waterproof tape to cover the seams so the water will stay out for the time being. The sealing around all the roof intrusions was shot too so I had to seal all of them. The roof surface itself is in surprisingly good condition, thank goodness, but the end caps need to be professionally redone. Since that's about a $2,000 job, I'll need to wait for my stimulus check to get that done...Oh, wait, I'm not getting a stimulus check.

Well. I guess I can hope the tape holds for a while. After three hours crawling around the roof of the RV, just about every muscle I have is in pain so I think I'll just sit and rest for a while now.
