Good morning.

It's 55 and clear heading for a high in the upper 70's. It will be partly cloudy.

Did quite a bit of work outside yesterday and old Murphy was in good form. My father and I were cleaning up pine straw and debris from the lower part of his property during the later part of the morning after it had warmed up a bit. He had the older tractor already started and warmed up when I got there so we set right to work. After about three hours work we decided to take a break. I shut the tractor down for a little while but when I went back to start it the engine wouldn't fire. We checked the carburetor, distributer, wires and plugs. Nothing wrong there. It was getting plenty of gas, but it just wouldn't start. We went to start the new tractor and found it's gas tank was dry. We filled the tank and tried starting it but it wouldn't start. It was obvious it would have to be primed. Looking at the way the fuel system is designed we quickly realized that we would have to take a bunch of stuff off in order to prime it. I got to thinking about that and told my father I'd be right back. I went into the shop and came back with a spray can of parts cleaner. He looked at me with a puzzled expression and said 'We're trying to get it started, not clean it'. I pointed out a line on the label and he saw the light. 'FLAMMABLE'. I sprayed some into the intake while he cranked it and it kicked right over. We got the rest of the work done then went back to see if we could start the old one started again when we both noticed a wire hanging free beneath it. The PTO safety had vibrated loose. After it was reconnected the engine kicked right over. Because of all that I got back home over an hour later than I had planned. I hate Murphy!

Gotta go see the foot doc this morning so he can poke and prod my feet some more. He won't be happy that I'm having to wear one of the old walking braces while the shoe for that foot is being repaired but it can't be helped. It's not like I can just buy shoes off the rack.

Good morning folks

It was 24 F as I headed off to work this morning. High will be 42 F.

We got a new carpet cleaner. Our old one died several months ago. Since we have kids and pets, our carpets take a beating and not having one was becoming a bit of a problem. I spent a good part of the time after I got home assembling it and then figuring out how to run it. I will say that the carpets have not looked so good in quite a while. I guess our old cleaner had not been performing for some time before it died.

We also had Cub Scout den meetings last night so I didn’t get any train time last night.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Morning Gang!
Flo, Since Rex is buying, steak & eggs will do just fine. But not just any steak, I'll have the 16oz Filet with 3 eggs over easy. !!
KenL. You get COLA where you work? Jeez, I always had to get it out of the machine!:p:D Bill, Keith and I went down to Zane's last night. It's been about 3 months since my last visit. Used to be every Wednesday night, but I've kinda fallen out of the loop. More new structures on the layout, including a cement plant. That maniac is once again getting ready to contract out to expand the basement for a 3rd time, adding another 1300 square feet. When will it ever end????
Jeff. Murphy strikes again eh? What did you ever do to him??
Sparky, glad to see you're a little better, eat up, it will help you get your strength back! Don't worry about some of it getting on the floor, Tom's got a new carpet machine, he'll get it up!!
Chris........this is earth calling............are you there????.........Chris.....are we reaching??????...

Flo--I'll have a coffee and a muffin please---I gotta go----:D:D

Karl where does this Zane fellow live such that he can expand his basement?:confused
Literally, in his own universe~!
He's put 2 additions on the house, now wants one more! IF you have the space (he does) then its all a matter of $$$$$$.
In my next life, I wanna be him!

Hey all, 4 days w/o power, finally got it back last night. Went trainwatching in the foot of rare VA snow, and got some great photos. All of the remnants of it should melt today :( . High in the 60's. Low in 40's tonight. Nice weekend, NEAR 80! Hoping to go out on NS Sunday.

Rex, Join the rest that are watching me! From The OSA to the money that I could be saving by switching to Geico!

I'm very dangerous and distructive when left alone and Idle for to long! So it's a safe bet that I need watching;)

"Flo, I'll have 24oz of that $100 a pound steak that some one is eating on my tab, a Large loaded baked Potato, corn on the cob, and a pitcher of beer. Put that on REX's Tab!"

Evening, everyone.

Sorry, I've MIA the last few days. I've spent a bunch of time getting my trading account from Edward Jones moved over to Ameritrade since I've finally decided that trading the market short is the only way left to make any money. As you might imagine, Edward Jones put up a fight but I finally got the accounts moved. I've been trading the S&P and S&P financials short since Monday and I'm up 28% in four days. I really hate to be doing shot trading at my age with retirement money but I did a lot of short selling in 70's and 80's and made a fair amount of money so at least I understand that market. It's pretty sad when you can't find any money to put long in the market. I'm getting more convinvced that either the current admistration doesn't understand what's happening or doesn't care. Since the last "stimulus" package was passed for $734 billion, more $1.7 trillion in shareholder value has been wiped out of the market. With any more help from the government, we'll all soon be broke. :(

I don't know what Rex did but, since he apparently left a pile of money for Chris to spend, I think I'll have one of the nice New York strip steaks I see over there, medium rare, please. :)

Jim
Wana be my broker? The "professionals" have only lost about 60% of my account value in 4 years.
Otherwise, I'm just gonna make a lumpy spot in the matress!
