Ha, ha. I put that bunny there myself. Trained it to only come out ever 10 minutes. Sorry you missed it Lynn. As for Winter it will be 80 degrees here in San Diego County today! Down from 83 yesterday! Toot put the Contest right. It was a big prize and it should have been harder than previous one's. Jim:)

There was a bunny? What the...yep my wife keeps asking me when we can book a holiday, winter has been too long all ready.

You didn't see the Bunny? It was near the top right of photo #1 And yep - even though it hasn't been toooo bad (until last night) it has still been to long. Still haven't quite come to terms with that white stuff the falls from the sky ... looks pretty but why does it have to be so darn cold!

You saw the Bunny as well, the little fluffy brown one with big long ears - really you did? Huh, who needs the holiday now! :p

80 degrees today, down from 83 yesterday ... darn, how on earth do you cope???? PS: I hate you. :D

I do agree with Toot - the degree of difficulty has to compliment the prize ... lets hope you never offer a new Corvette, Harley or complete top of the line DCC System (fully installed of course) or even a King Air 350 or Dauphin as a prize!

That was a hint Jim :) Something to think about - yes?

Tony, I consider myself a pretty nice guy. BUT, I have zero sympathy for anyone not living in San Diego County weather wise. Paradise Found. Jim:o

I really envy your weather Jim. It tends to cost me thousands to have a warm vacation. Been to italy 4 years in a row and countless times to caribean just so we can escape this damn winter. Came through the punch clock today and temp was -38 celcius with the wind, sheeeesh.

Guys, Someone mentioned about resolutions and screens in the Contest. I take my photos at 4000 x 3000 with my 12.1 MP camera. So I'm wondering about your monitors?

Also, I just shot this photo a 5 minutes ago. I call it 'Main Street.' Jim :)

I know what you mean Jim. I moved from a place that had a constant temperature of 30 C on ave year round. Never got colder than 25 C but did get as warm as 40 C. Not all that great when it comes to the conversions, and can't be bothered looking them up, but 25 C is around 75 F and 40 C is around 110 F. 8 or 9 months of the year was "perfect" - around 85 F with 0% humidity. The other 3 or 4 months was 95% + humidity and in the 90's - welcome to the tropics and Monsoon Season. Oh, we also got 12 months of rain in 2 or 3 months as well.

Now I live in a Freezer! Geez, what the heck was I thinking???? :)

The two pictures, yep what Rameyrail said - but I'm taking another look ... couldn't be THAT easy :)

For a start it's darker, which makes any changes less obvious, (and the guy by the crossing sign has moved and turned, but I don't think that's Jim's point)

I took the first (top) this morning. The mailman came at 1630 and left me a package containing the water tower. I took the second photo at 1730. Darkish and not much natural light through the skylight so basically it is a 'sundown' photo using just my desk lamp for lighting. I added the photo to show my new water tower that I will 'upgrade.' Jim:)

Funny Toot!

No Lynn, I made the station and the 2-door outhouse; the building in the background with the open door in the Contest. As for the rest I get them from a fellow on eBay. I like his work, just funky enough for On30. The fun of On30 is that almost anything goes layout wise, and no rivet counters per se. I've always been drawn to 'backwoods/shortlines' and I haven't a clue why. This scale is as free form as we get in this hobby, and taking the road less traveled has always been my way. Jim :D

Thanks Jim. Any idea what the guys name is on ebay:)?
I just spent 10 minutes looking at the contest photos again and did not see a wabbit.

Lynn, Keep looking!

Until you find the critter, try this: [email protected] Tell him Jim O'Connell sent you. I checked eBay just now and all his stuff is currently sold. Check daily as he built three or four and lists them. You will notice his pictures look like my stuff. He is a great guy to work with. I've purchased trees from him as well. He may only work in On30, but I know he does special orders. Jim:)

Well, this layout is just about finished. I've lost count, 6 or 7 in this room. Still a few touch ups on my water tower and that is it. Except of course the Peco turnout that will NOT seem to allow my "video car" and loco to pass through! In the meantime between sore backs and getting the video working I like to take breaks and do other things like this:

This is the official builders photo. I finished it today as far as logos go. I'm betting no one has this car. Jim :D

Jim,

That is a nice looking car and I like the name of it too "Death Valley". Sort of has a welcoming and comforting ring to it :)
