"Dang dem wabbits Clem - they dog gone dun it agin to us!"

Great job on your buildings Jim. I can recall a few years back the owner/modelrailroader from AMR use to scratch build and he had what I thought at the time a very unique technique which was he would take say a cereal box side and draw out the wall on it and simply lay board on board on the wall including windows in there marked places and do this for each wall and assemble all. I've never viewed how you scratch build Jim but have you ever done this method?

Lynn, Do remember I only built the station and the turntable. If the station is an example then, no, I can't build buildings like this guy. I think he does nearly the same thing as cardboard walls, I think he builds around Styrofoam blocks. I have built walls by putting siding on cardboard and I highly recommend it. Here is the link I posted earlier for this fellow's work that you asked for. He has some buildings on eBay right now. Jim:)

I got a movie finished. I will post the link here. I can't remember how to get the movie from my computer to Youtube so I will have to wait for my wife to do it tonight when she gets home from work. Hang in there. Jim:confused:

You need your wife to post the video Jim? I thought thats what we were here for.Login in to youtube and click on the upload button in the upper right corner.:)

I know Lynn and thanks. I clicked the upload and I couldn't find the movie on my computer. I know it is still in the camera. I thought I uploaded it. That is where the issue is. Jim :(

If you know the type of movie as in the extention , like .mpg for instance then you can go to your search and simply type in *.mpg and it will give you every mpg movie in your computer.

Looking at your other movie on youtube I think the movie type is MVI so you would be doing a search of *.mvi.

I did the search and could not find anything. I get to this: Removable Disk, DCIM, I click on DCIM and the movie is listed but I can't seem to save it. This is all with the camera on and attached. Jim:confused:

Jim Jim Jim, your doing it the hard way my friend ... It will be far easier and quicker to take the Card out of the camera and use a Card Reader to transfer the video (or anything on the card) to your computer.

Have you tried just "dragging and dropping" the video from the camera to your desk top?

If the video is still on the camera card then find it the way you described above but this time right click on the video and, while holding down the right mouse button, drag it to your desk top.

When you release the mouse button you should get a few options, two being to "Copy the File" and the other to "Move the File". Pic one or the other and the video (as long as it hasn't been corrupted through previous attempts) should either move to or be copied to your desk top. I always Move the file, but it is your choice.

Tony, That is so cool. lol Never knew how to do that! I took the vid of the desk top and put it in a video file folder. From there I can copy to YouTube correct? Jim:confused:

As long as the video file is on your computer, anywhere, you should be able to upload it to YouTube yes. I don't use You Tube so I don't know how that works, in terms of uploading things to it.

The nice thing is that you have the video on your computer and can look at it anytime you want, you can re name it or whatever you want.

If you want to make up a Folder for your train videos, then do it - it doesn't matter where the file is on your computer, just so long as you know where it is :)
