1. Door closed on shed behind the caboose (top right)
2. The box car
3. Man next to the flat top car is facing a different direction
4. The car on the turntable has a brake wheel
5. Piece of wood on wood pile moved
6. Another barrel in the car on the bottom left
What and where the other 2 are has me beat, or more to the point my eyes. Good luck to everyone else though. Who ever does win this will surely deserve it!
1. Blacksmith's assistant's legs repositioned to a more upright posture.
2. Small barrel on blacksmith's car added
3. Box car turned end for end to show brake wheel
4. Flat car/gondola on turntable either turned like box car to show brakewheel, or brakewheel added
5. Planks on ground rearranged
6. Door on shed next to caboose is closed
7. Man next to flat car between box car and critter, turned very slightly (rejected that about 20 times)
8. and lastly, There is 1 bottle missing from the yellow crate.
I'm going to bed now (11:45pm), so if it's any compensation to you lot over there, I won't know if I've won for another 7-8hrs, and it'll disturb my sleep.
The differences I found in photo 2 are:
1. Wood pile next to caboose repositioned.
2. Gondola on turntable now has brake wheel.
3. Boxcar next to gondola has been turned around
4. Door is now closed on shed behind caboose.
5. Blacksmith car appears further away from turntable.
6. Guy has been repositioned inside blacksmith car.
7. There is now a barrel on the floor of the blacksmith car, in with the crates.
8. Man next to flatcar and critter is repositioned.
Toot, has 7 correct. Not correct is the 'missing bottle in yellow crate.' A day fairly well spent I would say! I would also say, 'close only counts in horseshoes,' so no cigar! 35 minutes to go. By the way the final answer is in plain sight...................if you have really good sight. Jim
Sadly no winner. Thus no chicken dinner! No, wait. I won!
Here are the answers as I had written them:
Man in blacksmith car now upright.
Barrel added to blacksmith car.
Front wood pile changed.
Brake wheel added to the gondola.
Boxcar turned end to end.
Brakeman on other side of flatcar beam.
Outhouse door closed.
So that leaves us with this: Barrel on station platform now has lower metal hoop painted.
Thanks for playing. Next contest at 400,000 views. Jim
Before anyone starts yelling at me, let's examine that station barrel. In the first photo you can actually see the lower hoop not colored. In the second photo carefully follow the middle dark vertical seam down from the dark upper hoop. As you get to the lower hoop you will not see the same "coloring" as the upper hoop. Hope this makes sense? Different monitors will show this differently I guess, but on my monitor it is visible. Anyway, I had to have at least one hard choice. I was surprise you all got the brakeman by the flatcar being repositioned. That is a tough one. All the other 6 were pretty straight forward I thought. Jim
That is a tough one Jim, that's for sure. Not being critical or complaining because to me it was not about winning, just participating and having fun; but, you are right about Monitor resolution displaying some things differently from monitor to monitor. That could make it almost impossible for some things to be identified, no matter how hard you look.
Maybe for your next competition you could take out the painting element and just use the other forms of changes that you did use - all of which were great.
As said Jim, not complaining or 'yelling at you', just a thought for your next competition, one which you may have already considered.
With that being said, this was fun and challenging and although it was the first I have attempted, I am looking forward to your next!
Well done, Jim. Definitely the trickiest contest yet. Changes like that barrel are great. Hard to spot and make it a lot more challenging. The missing pop bottle would have been a real good one as well. I think possibly higher resolution pictures would make it a little easier to see the detail, though. In the first picture I can see what looks like a band on the barrel. In the second photo it is very hard to see the barrel, because the light has changed and the barrel is in darker shadow hiding a lot of the detail. The second picture seems a little grainier and harder to make out the detail, than the first, as well. I think a bigger picture file would probably make a big difference in the details showing up better. Even without the barrel this was still the trickiest contest to date. Had fun, Ron.
Well, if nothing else it confirms that I definitely need a new monitor, time to change to a new LED one (wonder if they make monitors in 60"), The change in position of the brakeman by the flatcar I only put in, in desperation. The barrel I (we) looked at many times but couldn't make it out clearly enough to detect changes. But at least you got my wife to actually look at something model RR related, so should I take that as a bonus consolation prize?
Yeah, they do make LED TV's 60" that can be used as a monitor. I think there is now a 70" TV that is also usable as computer monitor.
I have a 47" family room TV and a 32" secondary TV - both can be used as Monitors and the 47" is used as a monitor fro time to time with great resolution. At one point, I considered using the 32" as my main monitor and having my 23" actual monitors as my extension monitors
Yes, they do make a 70" TV and there is one in my living room. 3D too. It can be used as a monitor, but I like my desktop one. It is around 26" I think.
As for the Contest, I like doing them, something different. As for the barrel that is the first time I tried that trick. Sorry, Tony but I like it. Look at it this way, I could have planted an extra shrub on the far hill and no would have got that I'm betting. It is actually kinda hard, for me, to do these. My brain has to work overtime. Went to my personal care provider today and he thinks I'll live to the next contest! Thanks all for participating. Jim
Understood and you know something - I counted (or tried counting) all of those tree's just in case Glad your going to still be with us for the next comp too, and many more after that as well.

You were only counting trees? I was counting branches. Tony if I won I was just going to have Jim send it to you seeing as shipping is a killer to Canada and I need another lokie like I need another hole in my head. Was fun though.
Yep, it certainly was fun and I don't think I have had to concentrate that hard, for that long, for a long time. Got to the point where the little bunny in the top right of the picture was running around the station! I really do need a holiday
