But you just said "one last layout then off to retirement" from which I inferred that your are not retired.

I'm getting more and more confused. I better go work on my layout.

As I'm pretty much laid up today because of the back, I'm musing over the my doctor's 'all normal' results of my total bone scan. Don't really know what to do. To top it off my camera has not arrived yet. Jim:rolleyes:

Despite your continued back issues, it seems to me that a normal bone scan is a good thing. Perhaps your issues are muscular. I had issues a while back and was convinced I had blown a disc. However, a trip to the doctor, some exercises and things are much better. I hope you can find something that works as easily for you.

Yes I had the same remark after mine and the immediate thought that popped into the mind was "normal for who". I guess this is what you're wondering too, but at least can be thankful that nothing of a particularly nasty nature was found. As I said, my scan was prompted by a really bad bout of arthritis (I had great difficulty even lifting a cup to my lips) and scared the hell out'a me. I was thinking, "is this it? is this how it's gonna be from now on". Fortunately other tests showed it to be an inflamatory arthritis caused by something unknown but likely a virus. Took a while, but I'm now back to "normal" (that word again) and reasonably able to get on with life (such as that is). Dismal ain't it?

As an afterthought to the above, I've believed for a while now that whenever a child is born he/she should come with a Govt sticker attached, such as, "Warning.....Life........It may be dangerous to your health."

Thanks guys for sure. Whilst the pain is always present in the lower lumbar region the current, (last 6 months), is muscular. The lower back muscles on either side of my spine are really hurting me. Any doctors out there? Jim:confused:

My camera arrived from Hong Kong yesterday. On the last day of the scheduled delivery window. I wonder how that works? My wife is getting me a micro SC chip today. We'll see what happens. First trees should come off the layout soon after any successful photo attempts. Jim:)

Jim , sometimes layout removals are good as they show that you do not need to be stuck with any one layout or even scale. The fun is in the creation.

Thanks Mike, That is one way to look at the issue!

Here is a photo of the 'camera train.' I may have to change to a longer flatcar for more stability. We'll see. Waiting for the SD chip now. Jim:)

Jim,

I'm an MD but my specialty is far removed from back problems. That said, I have had my own back issues for the past 15 to 20 years and would be happy to discuss with you via pm.

Sherrel, It was all I had in my desk drawer. Stoker, funny. I've thought about the view you mentioned and I will see what I can do. I do not know the 'first' focus of the camera yet so I don't know how much of any car or forward view will be out of focus. Then I have to figure out how to load something on utube. Jim;)

To get another perspective you may also want to try mounting the camera on top of a boxcar and put it towards the back of a several car long train. This gives you the perspective of seeing an actual train wind through the scenery rather than the first person perspective of running camera first.
Good luck, can't wait to see the videos!

Actually, Stoker, that is a good idea. Does not to be as high as a boxcar .. Maybe use the flat with 3/4 or 1 inch block so that the top part of the loco and train will still be in the frame .. Like you were riding on it.

Well, I'm disappointed in my camera. It works fairly well outside in the sun light, but quite poorly indoors. Plus the fluorescent lighting in the train room makes the colors not right. I would say do not buy this camera for indoor photography. So $65 out the window as I'm a bit old to go snow boarding any more.

I will try to load my video I took up to Photobucket. I tried youtube and couldn't figure it out. Dummy I'm sure. Jim:mad:
