ModelRailroadForums.com is a free

photo gallery. We cover all scales and sizes of model railroads. Online since 2002, it's one of the oldest and largest model railroad forums on the web. Whether you're a master model railroader or just getting started, you'll find something of interest here.
That s4eems to be the issue across the board. These sort of things are great IF you want to cur ONE piece of basswood,
Maybe you should start a useful non useful thread for these types, I have a number I like and use, and some I bought but am still waiting to take out of the packet lol
I bought much more square stock than I needed so figured I'd take a sharp X-Acto knife to it, not too bad after I made the cut edge square again

. I found all the right lengths to take the wobble out of the bridge so I'm happy.
Since the ship has sailed on painting them the same color as the rest of the bridge I'm off to Google images to get ideas.

Maybe that isn't a bad idea, especially with so many new guys to the hobby coming into the forums. Might be useful to have. Only problem I see with it of course is everyone is going to have their own opinions of what is useful and what isn't

Tony: Is it not what these forums are for? Want different opinions on stuff like this.

I looked at some pics and the shoes are the same color as the rest of the bridge....makes sense. I glued my "shoes" on and repainted the whole bridge.
This section of the layout connects to a lift out and is part of my reversing section. The lift out will probably be my next project, then the track work will be done! Not all glued down yet.

Thats going to be a good-looking scene you're creating there!

Thanks, Mike. Hopefully get the reversing section done by next weekend then I don't know. I might continue scenery on the bridge scene. I also have plans for a modest city scene which trains will run under. I've already got two buildings ready for that so I may start that. Or something else...Thanks to you and all who follow along as I have a go at this hobby. I appreciate it!

Yes they are - but it has been my experience with very similar subjects that they deteriorate into a poo fight because someone doesn't agree with what someone else has said ... and THAT is something we don't want or need.
That being said, there is nothing to stop people from making suggestions about whatever the interest is in something, be it air brushes, scenery stuff and so forth. I see no reason for why someone couldn't start a "I tried this ...." and thought it was great OR I tried this ... and thought it was junk etc etc etc.
You are doing a terrific job for being new to RR building, one bit of advice is don’t procrastinate over an area and what to do for,the scenery as it can always be changed.

I'm glad you included a link to your build. I hadn't seen it before. Your layout is wonderful and inspiring! Thanks for the encouragement.

Thanks for the nice compliment, I wish more folks would post links to their main project as it can be quite difficult to seek out.

Your right Lynn; however, if people posted what they were doing with their layouts in the Layout Thread - they would be easier to find I think.

I've just had to go check where I put mine,

It would be neat if you could have a link from your profile that could take you to your build?

I agree. I attached the link to my signature quite a while ago

Ok, and how do us lesser mortals do that please?

Smudge: 1st you need a place to put stuff ( pix, text ) where the link points to. Then using the 2 chains linked together in the menu bar above, point to that place. No problem for us lesser mortals!

Go to your account settings, signature, then copy and paste the link found at the top of your thread's page

Woops, sorry, thought you wanted a link to somewhere else, not one of THESE pages. PMW states it just fine.
