Woke up to blowing snow with temp 2f windchill -11f
Going to be a cold day here in Kansas not sure how much snow we’re supposed to get. They were saying 12-14” by the end of weekend but it might end up being half that. Wind keeps blowing roads will drift so that’ll be fun...
Good morning all
Thank you to everyone that responded to the question I had about what system you use. Very informative.
Currently here is 33f high of 45f with rain going to a mix snow rain. We’ll see, haven’t really gotten any moisture to speak of and looks to me like the winter wheat...
Good Evening,
After I did my little ops session the other day, I was thinking, I wonder what you guys/gals are using for a DCC system?
I've been using from the start of my "dcc switch over from dc" I've been using MRC system. When I first wanted to change from dc to dcc, I was part of a club...
Today I did some switching on my shadow box switching layout KG & B Railway - Barnesville Junction.
Video of my operation. Took the video with my phone and it's not the greatest but you get to see my layout in operation.
Hopefully the Utube video loaded here correctly. If not, visit my...
I have a question for you all.
How many of you use JMRI on your layouts for operations? Mainly, switch lists.
I've tried to do switch lists with it and I've done 4 separate lists and each list is taking cars from the yard and putting them in a train.
Meaning, one train will have say a boxcar...
Hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving weekend. I spent the 4 days working on the basement. Getting all dry walled in and taped and mud. Still have the bath and one room to dry wall and mud.
Other than that not much going on in the hobby workshop. Did sneak out to the shop and run my...
Just finished this Model T. I've built two, one a touring car and now this firetruck. Kits are pretty easy to build, some areas a little tricky but all in all goes together well.
Enjoy the pictures.

I have the original box and it says D&RGW and I know my dad never did anything with it and he bought it new. Let me see if the paperwork is still in the box. Heck if I know my dad it probably still has the parts sheet in the box if anything needed replaced.
Let me look and I'll post some...
Someone asked a while back if my challenger that my dad has that is mine now what it was it’s a D&RGW brass and he paid $110.00 back in the 60’s. Runs little loud cause of the motor back then but pulls every car I have.
Another brass engine I have from him is a little 10 wheelers and it runs...
I know some of you have been following along with the cablecar build and I put together a short slideshow that has all the pictures that I did for this build in one place. It's about 3 minutes long.
Enjoy
No lights just a powered trucks so I can run it on G scale track. I should of built it with lights in it and a DCC decoder with some sort of sound decoder. That would of been cool. It's ok, just need to locate a powered truck and then build some track for it. For now it will sit in my...
It's all done!!! Had fun building it and there was some challenges but over all a great model for anyone to build. I will power it but at the present it is not powered. I plan on building some shelving around either the room I use as a modeling area in the house or in my hobby shop out in...
