Kato not making the transition sleeper???

I don't know about anyone else, but I ordered mine through Pacific Western Rail Systems. I like their ordering system, they will hold all the items you order until ready to ship all at once, saving you shipping costs. Pretty decent discounts too. They have a lot of good things, and a lot of...

    Another Ebay moment

I was actually watching this one to see how high it went. It was at $450, then the next day it dropped to around what it sold for. Looks like someone got cold feet. But again, for the bid to have gone to $450, someone else made that their high bid. You'd almost be better off having a custom...

    Intermountain coupler boxes

Somewhat good news. IM has become aware of these poorly designed coupler systems. After calling them about this, I got a phone call from them today noting that they are trying new designs out. Hopefully soon!

    Speed Matching

I know this is a subjective topic. Looking for the easiest way to speed match my fleet. I use 3 types of decoders, is there a best practise, or just lengthy trial and error?

    Intermountain coupler boxes

I was expecting a little more from intermountain especially on the price point. It's even more of a drag that I have close to 100 of their cars!

    Intermountain coupler boxes

Just wondering if anyone else is noticing that the Intermountain coupler boxes easily come off. Specifically in RTR. Can someone recommend a good solution for this issue that has become more frequent to me. A few of my bathtub gondolas and cylindrical hoppers are the culprits. Looks to be...

    DCC Sound Question

I have used loksound in the past. The only thing that it didn't do was the GE compressor "wooop". Call me picky, but its hard not to imagine GE power without that sound. Unless recently there has been a change in the compressor sounds?

    DCC Sound Question

It is a Soundtraxx decoder. I noticed the section on the manual notching. Would I be asking too much of the decoder for load effort difference from the monotone notch 6 when departing? Also, to get a bit off topic, any suggestions on just a sound decoder for a cab car?

    DCC Sound Question

I have successfully installed my second sound decoder this time in an Amtrak Dash 8-32BHW. First install was a Via Rail P42, also a success. I am left with one last final touch. I would like the sound to reflect notch 6 for the HEP system, at all times. Any ideas?
