Looking for a Walthers Proto Amfleet II Lounge in phase IVB

The title pretty much says it all, but I'm looking for a Walthers Proto Amfleet II Lounge in phase IVB, doesn't matter if it's lighted or not.

    More Sunset equipment progress

Moving forward with Sunset Limited #2 I finished up 819, coach dorm 39908 and coach 34083 which was one of the coaches that tumbled off the Bayou Canot bridge. I may eventually add the exit windows on 39908 as well as purchase 3d printed ends to better represent the HEP era equipment...

    Sunset Limited almost complete~

It feels great to build my collection back up after a couple years of walking away from this hobby. One train I've always wanted to model (and have attempted to in the past) is the 1993 Sunset Limited that crashed into Bayou Canot, Alabama. My customs for this train are: P40 #819 F40 #262...

    Help finding Superliner cars?

Walther’s cars are also hard to find and when they can be found, people often want $100+ per car especially for the plated version. I’m no fan of their old superliners either. Besides, I already have a Kato Sleeper car on the way, might as well stick to the brand.

    Help finding Superliner cars?

Hey everyone, been a few years since I've been here as I've walked away from the hobby for a while, but have decided to jump back into it. I'd like to once again, build up a consist but unfortunately it seems next to impossible unless you model current era Amtrak. What I'm looking for are Kato...

In Search of Walthers Proto Superliners!

Model numbers for plated Sleepers are: 920-11021 for non lighted 920-12021 for lighted 932-16172 Before they were rebranded into the Proto line Either works for me!

In Search of Walthers Proto Superliners!

I’m hunting for Walthers Proto phase III Superliner sleepers. I know it’s a tall order, I just figured I’d reach out. I’m building up a consist and all that’s missing are the Sleepers. I’ll buy them for a fair price! Any info or leads on who may have em would be great. Model Numbers include...

MBTA F40 converted into Metro North F40PH-3cat

So I've decided to quit modeling the MBTA's weird equipment and move onto a different commuter rail, Metro North or MTA. I've taken my Walthers F40 that WAS painted as MBTA 1016 and overhauled it into a Metro North F40PH-3cat #4912. What I've done here is stripped the paint, then chopped the...

    MBTA 1127 progress

Made great progress on 1127. She received her full paint job and most of her decals. Will need to order a decal sheet of letters to add the "MBTA" and "1127" to her sides as well as the American flag decals that are placed on the cabs. Handrails are on the way, those will have to be a custom...

    MBTA GP40MC Project

Bell and mount were added. The bell was recycled from the GP40x this started from. Filled the gap between the walls of the nose with styrene.

    MBTA GP40MC Project

I’ve been working nonstop on this project for the past few days and made a lot of progress. The stretching of the shell was successful, the new cab is complete, Kadee couplers were installed, step ladders were added, number boards added, and front marker lights are in place. All that’s left to...

    MBTA GP40MC Project

And so it begins! I received an Athearn GP40x in the mail and have already taken the first few steps for the conversion into a GP40MC. So far I've removed the shell from the old chassis/frame and have removed the cab. I'll post all progress photos/Updates on this thread!

    Thickness of an Athearn shell?

The reason I ask is because I need to lengthen the GP40x to fit over a Dash 8 set of chassis since that's the closest to the length of the MBTA GP40mc. But I think I got my answer! Thanks guys, I do appreciate the help!

    Thickness of an Athearn shell?

I was thinking that! I may buy an sd45 shell since it has the same style flared grills.

    Thickness of an Athearn shell?

I've decided that instead of modeling the F40PH-2C, I'm going to model an MBTA GP40MC. I'll be starting off with an Athearn GP40x, but I know I need to lengthen it. What size of sheet styrene matches up with the Athearn shell is my question?

    Project questions

Not sure if a Walthers dash 8 would suffice?
