I've been wanting to make my own F40PH-2C in HO scale for a while now. Problem is, there are no suitable chassis out there for such a locomotive. I was thinking of making my own chassis out of Styrene and using the Walthers F40 trucks and motor. I've seen some people use brass, however I know nothing about working with brass or smoldering it so I'm ruling that out. Anyone ever make chassis from sheet styrene before? Any help or advice on this project would be great.
I know nothing about this locomotive, but in a few minutes with Google I found a couple of people working on a similar project. Have you reviewed their work?

Indeed I have Jeff, however one guy used an Atlas Dash 8 chassis for his but I'm not paying for an atlas model when I only need the chassis.
This is definitely one of the most frustrating locomotives to model in Ho scale.
Did you check ebay for a dash 8?
For an Atlas model? I did, and the prices are crazy.
Not sure if a Walthers dash 8 would suffice?
