Funny, my eyes are so shot, I thought it said Tyco last night. You are correct, it is not a Tyco. It is something called AHM. I want to restore it to working order.Welcome to the forum.
Are you sure that's a Tyco? It looks exactly like a Bachmann F9A I had way back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth.
Have you tried to see if the motor still works ?Funny, my eyes are so shot, I thought it said Tyco last night. You are correct, it is not a Tyco. It is something called AHM. I want to restore it to working order.
Thanks! It's actually a FT A unit. Four portholes per side.
Well done!Bit of an update for those interested in a first-time rehab. I put power to the motor and it worked, but sputtered. I then went all in and cracked open the motor and cleaned the commutator like I have seen on YouTube. It worked pretty well. The issue was it took me an hour to figure out how to keep the brushes in contact. A little bit of oil, a new headlight, and some wheel cleaning next! I feel quite proud of myself.
