What detail colors for wooden boxcar kit?

I am assembling a wooden reefer boxcar kit. What would be the typical colors for grab irons, ladders, door latches, and door hinges?

Black, oxide brown or the color of the car. Depends on which railroad, what era and what the other colors on the car are.

Yes, depends on the road and era. Ice hatch reefer cars often had black door hardware, while the grab irons and ladders would match the end/roof of the car.
