What's going on over here these days? Two weeks in a row where no one got the thread going on time...... Everybody must be outside getting a sunburn, I guess! ;) so I'll start it off:

I have still been doing a lot of very unphotogenic stuff on the layout. I did, however do a bit of upgrading of a trestle bridge over a gorge that I built about a decade ago. Added some supports and tried something to see if it would work. Used "O" scale rivets as bolt heads on the timbers. Most did well, but I see some either got rubbed off or fell off when I used Dullcoat to seal them in place. Easy fix....

It is just setting in place for the moment. Still have a lot of stuff to do in this scene.

My stripped out drive wheel. I bought another chassis on ebay with the intent of swapping the entire assemblies. I'll just have to paint the new/old one.

As you can see, the plating on the wheels is beat up so this change may be a blessing in disguise.

Nice stiff guys! :D

Everything looks great! Never dislike a Rio Grande unit in the black and orange. 'Thrown rod,' never makes anybody's day. Has potential for an interesting sceen, with a few train crew, and 'Management' looking at it....

New shortlines

Nice stuff guys!
With the layout gone I don't have much to show, but here's a proto pic.
There are two new shortlines starting up here, The Central Canadian Railway, and The Lake Line Railway. The latter started by some friends of mine.
I believe they are sharing a loco for now, here's a pic as it rolls into town.
