Walthers Turnout

Hi Guys,

I'm new to this stuff, but is it common to have to clip off a tie at each end of a Walthers turnout if I'd like to connect it with rail joiners?

even if you do have to clip it off to make the connection, save the tie, file down the molded on plastic spikes and tie plate then slip it under the rail connector so you don't have the gap between ties.

I'd say it's not uncommon to need to remove ties from manufactured track. Be sure to follow D&J's advice though.

Yes sir you are indeed correct. Same with flex track.
