Vintage photos that might provide scenery ideas

I can spend hours looking at vintage photos of trains, cars, planes and photos of the American landscape as it looked 40, 50, 60 or more years ago. Heres a link to a site with hundreds of pages of vintage photos. Most are street scenes or cars, but theres plenty of trains as well as a wide variety of subject matter. Anyone attempting to represent a particular era on their layout should definitely check it out for ideas for structures, signs, and both rural and urban daily life. The page #597 that the link goes to is as far as I've gotten so far. There are another 500 pages of photos I haven't gotten to yet.
On this page the train wreck is sad, but I like the bridge over the New River in Virginia. I went to college not far from where the bridge had been.

There was another post exactly like that on another forum a few years ago. Imagine a message board just like this with posters putting over 1000 pages of one single posters thread featurning 1000s of vintage photographs on it. It was by far the coolest single post on the history of the internet and I lost track of it and forgot all about it and when I went back to it, it wouldnt work anymore. I see this thread is comparable to that. When your a car guy and threads like this pop up. They are very addicting and you just want to see more and more and more. The thread I mention thats now gone. I sat in front of my computer for 8 hours one sunday afternoon just surfing through post after post, page after page of these great pictures. Im glad to see there is still a thread like this out there that still has these great old pictures.
