There was a derailment of 13 cars from a Union Pacific train in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin apparently early this morning. Two cars were carrying scape metal and the other 11 cars were empty. The site of the mishap is just a few miles from my home and if I am outside I can hear the Union Pacific diesel horns at they approach grade crossings.

Look like a lot of RR ties and rail was torn up during the derailment. No one was injured.

I may just take a ride over there later this morning.

Musta been the McHenry couplers that failed.
One of the things I heard about train wrecks is that uprooted rail may still be under tension and could spring loose at any time. Standing in the vicinity could result in getting struck by rail or debris that is swatted by a rail.
