I saw two unpatched Rio Grande SD45T-2s on the Norfolk Southern in St. Louis last year and I just about crashed my car into the ditch. I'm not kidding, if there would have been a way for me to chase them I would have chased them half way across Missouri.

Jarrell,
My layout is about 30 feet on a side, so you can get an idea from the drawing. Basically, it's built in sections that are about 4 feet x 6 feet. The largest piece is about 5 feet x 6 feet and that's too big. I know because I moved it from my last house to my current house. 4 x 6 is a good size, although I don't think I'd ever move my layout again.

If those major grid squares on your drawing are 2 feet, you may have aisles that are a little too narrow. I do like your track plan though. It has a nice scenery to track ratio. Not too much track crammed in a small area. You might want to expand the passing siding a couple more feet.

I was looking through here again and I can see this is completely outdated. This layout is no more... I ripped it up at the end of 2005 and spent the whole 2006 rebuilding a much nicer version. See my website for a set of new photos.
