I might throw my old Rivarossi Y6B on now - no box - not running. Might get some decent $ for it.

What Burlington Bob said as well

i cant believe that anybody would spend that kinda cash , you could by 2 riverrossi big boys for that

I looked at the bid history, the same two nuts bid each other up on it four or five times, I dont think the big boy is that rare of an engine.

why the hell would someone think that a person would pay five thousand for that caboose?

Maybe they are hoping blackz28 will get drunk again and bid on it. (hahaha sorry blackz i just had to :D ) But in all seriousness I have no idea. I almost thought about reporting the item as being fradulent, but maybe the seller has a good reason. Maybe the president played with it at one time. I dont know lol

It's worth noting here that the $8,000 dollar Rolex watch is totally in the tank. The $250,000 dollar watch is backordered. There are people for whom money is utterly meaningless as a day to day commodity purchasing method.

Im hoping it was a typo as well, or someone is on some reeeallyyy good drugs lol. But before you post a listing on ebay (i assume many of you should know) you have mulitiple times to review it, so one would think he or she would have caught that. But oh well it was worth a laugh. It still amazes me at some of the prices people have listed for other items as well if you put the search from highest to lowest.

That's one of those great questions where you are setting someone up to either be apologetic or totally pissed off.

A bit off topic but a few months ago while car shopping on a classifieds site I messaged a seller to advise that her Peugeot 306 GTi6 was actually a bog standard Peugeot 206. Don't know how you'd make that mistake considering the only thing they have in common is that they're both FWD Peugeots. Didn't get a response and the car remained in the wrong category for at least a week or two.
