With the dual filament MARS light need to use brown or green wires. What CV? and what data input? Single globe to reverse light set to forward only as described in Soundtraxx manual.
What I've done is to replace this bulb with a regular bulb. Then I program the headlight to its normal function. I then wire the "Mars" light to the rear headlight with the parameters set to a Mars flashing, on when running forward, and mapped to the F4 button. Works very well!
Ditto. On my older Proto E's and PA's I trashed the dual filament bulb, as well as the headlight. I drilled out the clear casting and put a regular bulb in there. it looks much better as a Mars light when programmed than the dual filament bulb. I also put the headlight into a piece of brass tube and painted the bottom of the clear casting black so the track under the locos nose isn't lit. I always got rid of the factory board and just hard wired a decoder in. I always hated those old Proto boards. Every stinkin one was different!
