i have just bought a tyco 2-8-0 royal blue off of ebay and am in need of info about the real one. i did find out that b&o ran it but i was trying to find when the 2-8-0 was used and i would also like to know what a mint tyco 2-8-0 from
1977 is worth
If you just bought it off e-bay, you know what it's worth. The Tyco engine has no relationship to any engine ever used on the real Royal Blue. It's just a normal 2-8-0 freight engine painted in a fantasy scheme. They were never very good running engines and the Royal Blue has virtually no collector value. If you paid more than $30, you paid too much.
