Been pretty busy on the mountain. Went crazy fast on scenery. The logging camp is pretty much done. The steam donkey is down and spar poles are on the layout. I still have stumps and logs on the ground. Need to run ropes from the donkey to the spar poles. More greens and browns and blending to do yet. Need to get some more grasses in different colors. Lots of things to do yet. Lot of time to do it. I cleaned the track so i can run trains. Not bad. I have two engines on the tracks right now. Two more i want on it. Got to clean the wheels on those two engines yet, then i can see if they run. Shots below of the camp below.

I took a few days off but now back at it again. I started making ivy brush for the tunnel portals and the rock faces around the track. I also finally finished the "box car" storage shed for the yard engine house. I also fixed the wooden framework for the sand tower. All drying right now. I have a lot of work to do on the back side of the layout. Shots below,

Woops, I have been Been thinking about names for the town, river and Mountains. So far i have Short Mt., Mt. Weather, Eagle Rock, Spruce Mt., Stone Ridge and Millville. Nothing in stone but am thinking about "short mountain" for the small peak between the logging camp and the flat ground with the field and barn. Maybe Mt. weather or Eagle rock for the far left mountain and maybe stone ridge for the mountain on the right and millville for the town. Anyway, Just ideas..nothing in stone..yet.

To me, thinking up names is like pulling teeth. Want railroad sounding ones of course! Not sure that using existing names is the way to go as if I use Cheyenne for instance, and I am not specifically modeling it, I would wonder if folks would associate it with the real one.

I know, it is my railroad, but.

what about Miville or Mitown (pronounced MY Ville or My town) Mt Short for the small peak, and High Ridge for the one on left and Mt View for the far left.

Yep don't know anything about those towns or mountains. Just saw them and they looked like a fit for the mountains on the layout. Like building it i can take my time naming them. Thanks for the ideas

i cut open that bottle of Hob-e-tac and got as much laid down as i could. Here is the last shot till i get my order in. I got reeds for the river. Tufts for firlds and other places. Glues and dark green for the poly. While waiting i will clean track and run some trains. Shots below. Laters

Well, My order has come in and that means time to get back to work. have one other thing to get and its on its way. My Most item i want to finish is the barn yard and cattle rack for the cattle cars. The back fence is also to be finished. I get that done and maybe the last item will be here. Laters

Had a issue with the cattle ramp but after cutting it back was able to get it the right height for the cattle car. I still have to finish the fence and some weeds around the fence line so i can give the animals something to eat. And need to add animals too. I like this field, so it may be another centerpiece to this layout. I have three, anyone for more?

It seems that woodland scenics did there dark green poly different, or i got it from another place. Its not match with what i was using. I am going to try some brown tint to it and see if it will tone down to match. Shots below
