The (GC) Gondola Connection company...?

I can't find any info on the actual company itself, anyone have a link or idea about the company?

Never look at logos, look at reporting marks. CRLE is a secondary reporting mark for the current Michigan Air-Line Railway. The CRLE reporting marks are a leftover from when the the MAL was Coe Rail, Inc. The name was changed in 2006. There's more information at http://www.railmark.com/MALR/index.php.

The pic has no marks in it. I remember seeing some kits at the hobby store but never looked at them before.

The reporting marks are just out of the picture to the left. A search on Yahoo turns up multiple pictures of the model car with the correct reporting marks.

CHTT 286200-286249 are the ex-CRLE "gondola connection" cars you're referring to. Their AEI tags were prepared in July 1997, so they probably began to appear soon after that. These cars are ex-CRLE 3300-3349; observations support the probability that they were renumbered in order.

As to their being built in Canada, let me just say "Nope!" They were built in the good ol' U.S.of A. by Thrall, in 1995. There were about 500 of these "Gondola Connection" cars, and a good many of them have been relettered and renumbered away from the CRLE series...IMRL and NS are a couple of operators that come quickly to mind.
