It's hard to believe they actually crashed two steam engines into each other as a stunt for entertainment at the 1913 Worlds Fair.

Crashing steam engines was actually quite a common spectacle in that era. I have a small softover book just on the subject. One item refers to a cameraman being hit in the head by a piece coming from the explosion, think he was killed. Just imagine trying to do the same these days!!
Would be something to see!!..I have seen videos of crashing airplanes for safety tests. If they had a show that did it and did cars, trucks, planes and trains...and it was close...I'm sure I'd buy a ticket!!
