400 people have downloaded our "ruler", a scale "scale" sounds funny. Thanks for showing interest in 55n3. I hope some of you join with us in modeling 55n3.

Actually it isn't from scratch. 5.5mm/ft has been around since in 1963 in England. It was introduced to model 26 inch narrow gauge on 12mm gauge TT track.

I only assembled the pieces to depict American narrow gauge on HO track. It is the only scale in narrow gauge that has no "holes".

1. It has a ready to run 4-4-0
2. Near ready to run cars (convertible from On30)
3. Inexpensive structures so everything isn't scratch (convertible from HO)
4. Figures and wagons
5. Cheap available RTR track which is correct three foot
6. Fits easily in HO space.
7. Large enough to work on and run well
8. Not overwhelming large like O where there is no room for structures
9. The BIGGEST reason: Available inexpensive quartered locomotive drivers, no other scale offers that.

No other scale offers all of the above. I thought 55n3 back in the mid-70's but nothing was available. Now everything has come together.
