I felt it was important to say thank you to all the RPM modelers and Rivet Counters. I don't think they get enough credit for pushing the envelop for more and more realism. Considering I play mostly with my Lionel O gauge trains I may be the last person you might expect to appreciate them, but I certainly do! I love how the models are becoming more and more realistic. You can see their influence from entry level train sets all the way to top of the line models.

This hobby is driven by the forces of capitalism same as any product is. Companies make what they think people will buy, simple as that.

It's pretty obvious that realism is not high on my list. Lets face it not many real trains run on 3 rails, but I do enjoy all the details in todays trains.
