I'm in the process of detailing and painting an A-B-A set of Stewart F3's into my freelance railroad the Roanoke & Western. In the middle of the decaling process now. The color is CB&Q red even though the pictures don't look that red. The stripes are for a Soo Line F-unit. The herald and Roanoke & Western name are still being made by a friend with an alps printer. So as soon as they get here I will get this project buttoned up.

Very nice! Such a nice paint job and shine. I'd never weather a paint job done so well. Can't wait to see it finished.
That combo does look pretty nice.
Great Job and I really like the design. Is the yellow and the black both decals? If not how did you do the black?

Microscale Soo Line decals
Here is a rendering of what the finished product should look like. Since i did this I decided to go silver on the trucks, pilot and tank.

Got in late to the thread, but utterly gorgeous and convincing - as if there was a real Roanoke & Western at about time Truman got re-elected !
Really captures the period feel. Bravo!
Still waiting for the rest of my decals, but I did get all of the detail parts installed. My decals are supposed to be done I just don't have them yet. Soon hopefully.
Damn! They're lookin good.
Very nice, and very credible looking scheme!
I'm with Zoegraf on the weathering, maybe a tad on the roof if any.
I finished decaling the Stewart F3's last night. A freind of mine made the heralds and the Roanoke & Western script lettering on an Alps printer. They are as crisp and clean as any decals I've ever used. It's a crying shame the tech behind it is almost dead. Here are some pics, the only camera I had with me was my cell phone so there not great.
Well I got to say that your cell phone takes better pics than my camera.
You are doing an awesome job.
I really like the paint and decals on those.
Here are some new cell phone pics of the F's. Almost done, a little more coupler work and some light weathering.
Doug
Doug,
Those are SO good looking, it's almost a shame to weather them!!
Excellent work!

Tom, I've given that a lot of thought, and I think for now anyway they will just get a little smoke on the roof and a few other light touches.
