does anyone know how to make black smoke with out a flame??
i want a more real look on steam engines and i only see white smoke
As far as i know you can only get smoke generators that emit white smoke, black smoke is not good for the health or the train room, even if you could get it to black smoke the stuff would quickly clog up the stack with soot

Hmmm! who's good at spotting photo editing? If it is it looks like a nice job. I tend to agree with the above posts "white smoke, yes, black smoke No!"
As stated, black smoke is the result of incomplete combustion, and is a health hazard. anyway the white stuff is bad enough, it stinks and I doubt it's much better for your lungs than the black stuff.
Learn some photo enhancing, much healthier for the lungs

I've been using 3 in 1 oil in my engines w/smoke. It isn't exactly white, more gray & stinks worse than the oil that U buy for smoking engines. LOL
I don't run these engines very much because they are antiques in H.O. scale.
