New N gauge guy
I have searched here and Google and everything seems to complicated for my layout.

I want under table diesel sound that speeds up with my throttle.

Is there a simple way to do this?

I have an MRC unit that does that. Can't remember the stock number, but it works pretty good.

Heck yea! That would be perfect.

I can put a speaker every few inches on my 2x4 oval.
:)
Maybe I'll just smash the speakers togather and use them for a backdrop.
:p

Larry, it's at http://www.soundtraxx.com/products/dcc/SurroundTraxxMAIN.htm. Pretty nice system for someone who doesn't want to go to DCC.

Jim, I read the whole story on this system & I would have to put in a unit in all my loco's to make it work, plus all the hardware for each block. I figure the whole system would probably run me about $2,000.00 just to cover one stretch of track on my big layout. The electronics for my whole layout would be a giant endevour & the end would get the price up to 4 grand or more.
Think I'll stick to what I got.:D

After reading through the manual, it appears that it will work with standard DCC (no sound) on a small alyout with no need for transponders. Once you get beyond that, it appears to be the work of a mad scientist. :) As you said, Larry, you can easily equip all your locomotives with sound decoders for less than the price of this system. The only way I can see this making sense is for a medium to large N scale layout where having DCC isn't hard but sound systems are difficult or impossible. It may make some sense in that situation but not much else.

I'd get it just simply for a yard or two with DCC non-sound equipped Switchers. Since those are very hard to include sound in.

Tech ll Sound Generator 8000 or the Throttle one with Sound and Power.
Discontinued by MRC (I believe) but there's always eBay
