Hey great idea for a thread! I have one of these ontario northland FP-7's. Looks fairly realistic but it doesn't have the bell on the roof like the prototype. I didn't build it though like Maniac did his......but give me some time....I have some ideas!

Are those Intermountain? Really nicely detailed.

Used to be stuff like this was par for the course from manufacturers. They had no problem releasing "foobies" in any road imaginable. Its not like today where many have gone to releasing proto correct numbers and details on much of their equipment. Used to be for any of the class 1 prototypes, you had to take an engine that was close, modify and paint it for your road, or buy it in brass.

Very well said,in fact you hit the nail on the HEAD!!!! the club which I am a member of is the GN/BN change over and here I come !! with all my CN and CP stuff !!!! talk about firestorm !!!,now don't get me wrong I do wish I could model say Aug25.1978 but I have never nor will I be a rivet counter, I prefer to do the What if ?? and the main reason I do it is becasue the roads I model the stuff isn't there so just like the railroads I have to make my own stuff, and you I have a blast doing it.I tell people all the time "It's a hobby you should be having fun"

Hey L, is that engine you're painting....is it an EMD SW series? Ohio Central RR uses one of those to pull a few grain hoppers and boxcars around to service some businesses here where I live. Finally saw it last week and took a short video of it. Should have saved it but I'll see it again soon I think.

Hey railfan,Yes it's the Atlas SW9/1200 I posted pictures of that and the MAC in the painting thread.Go have a look see.

Here is one in the making,Started life as a MT's Pennys depressed flatcar, stripped and re-painted in CP action red and when I cut out the wood deck it sort of fell apart so I'm installing each plank one at a time!!

Got one side done and had to stop, time to go do decals on a boat load of stuff.
