I've got a small fleet of gp 9s (sp black widows) that are Proto 2000. I'm thinking of either repainting them into Milwaukee Road or buying a new set of shells. The ones I'm looking at are Proto 2000 gp 38 though. What I was thinking is I could cut the weight so it will clear the gp 38 shell and put the old shells in a box and let em sit. Will a gp 38 shell fit on the gp 9 frame though? If it fits I can make any neccesary changes to the weight or lighting. Does anyone have any input?? Thanks in advance

in all honesty, no. The GP9 is considerably shorter than the 38. Phil
Not only is the 9 shorter, the trucks and fuel tanks are different.
Most 38's had blomberg b's which would be the same as the 9's. However the fuel tanks are different. phil

The 9's are the same size frame as the EMDs up to the GP35, if it was worth the trouble to convert.
