I am looking at getting a few "B" Boat's and was wondering what the various carbody differences were between the B23-7, B30-7 and B36-7 were? I am primarily looking at CSX family versions if that narrows things down any.
Not much. They were the same length and most of the detail differences were in things like air intake placement and trucks. Just go to http://www.locophotos.com/ and have a look at the three different models. There were subtle detail differences between roads as well as locomotive models. That last Dash-7's that were operated by a Class 1 railroad were those of the CSX, and they were retired in January of this year.
