Hi everyone,
I am back into developing the layout after taking the summer and most of the fall off. I ordered some goodies from rrcirkits.com, a loco buffer USB, an SSB gateway, a couple of Fan out boards, and a couple of motormen to drive my tortoise powered turnouts. The laptop is now connected to the layout using the Loco buffer and the SSB gateway with the JRMI software. This allowed me to operate my two DCC controlled locomotives via the computer. Very cool.
The motormen are on back order due to some firmware upgrades that are not ready for delivery. But once I get those I will be ready to connect them to the tortoises so the turnouts can be remotely controlled via the computer, ipad via the z21 app, and through push button switches installed on the layout fascia boards.
Happy to be back in the rail road building business.
