Im finally to the point of putting in my train yard, not nearly as long as i would have liked, but i dont have a room strecther so..... Will i be likely to be kicking myself later on if i leave this track right on the wood, or does roadbed need to go under there? And if i do leave it right on the wood, what is a good way to bevel the road bed where it will end and the track starts on the wood? Roadbed is woodland scenics foam.

Im gonna sneak in a part 2 while im on the subject of the train yard. I have 8 inches from the ties to the front edge of the table, and about 8 ft of length. I have left a switch open for further additions. Since i am so new to mrr, i really dont have a good knowledge base to go off of when it comes to planing space usage. I would like to hear some opinions on what i can fit into this space that will not crowd the other tracks out. I have not bought the first building yet, but im getting close.
