Revolution Trains announce new Class 66 loco

It’s been around 20 years since the launch of a new N Gauge Class 66 model loco design… but now there’s an exciting brand new model in town, this one from Revolution Trains.

I sit down with Ben Ando, co founder of Revolution Trains to talk about the launch of the company's new model and why it's set to become the definitive N gauge Class 66 for the next generation.

Ben talks about the model's exciting new features and liveries, and a game changing loco numbering service designed to help you create your own unique stock.

We can learn much from our friends across the pond. They generally live in smaller spaces than we do and have made an art of fitting maximum detail into a minimum of space. If you don't subscribe to her channel, I'd recommend doing so just to see some of the very well done small layouts. They also focus on maximum bang for the buck which is useful to the thrifty among us.

Thank you!

Didn’t accurail release one a couple, years ago, or was that Hornby. Maybe I a, thinking the 37‘s

N scale (That's UK 1:148 N scale) there are two current models, one by Dapol and another by Graham Farish. Both are long in the tooth, have some issues although with a little work can be made to look decent. Dapol did recently announce an intention to retool their N scale one as well putting them head to head with RevolutioN as they did with the Class 59 a while back.

In OO scale, there is the Bachmann one which again is old but still decent (same parentage as its Farish N scale stablemate) whilst the misshapen plastic lump that Hornby churn out at eyewatering prices is derived from the old 1990's Lima model with marginally better running gear but is best left in the bargain bins where they belong.

Someone also does a European Continental HO scale version, the Class 66 (or EMD JT42-CWR and variants) has got about a bit.
