2) what techniques do you use to make reporting marks straight. I just eyeballed these and think they are kind of crooked. I figure there is a clever way to make them truly straight without drawing some kind of guideline. I have some ideas but wanted to hear what others have done.
The IC and NS, I've seen, when reapplying the reporting marks, sometimes just use a regular stencil and spray paint, and do one letter or number at a time.
Yep, patched reporting marks and numbers can be almost anything from perfect to being painted with a brush...and I mean in real life. The combination of the weathering and the patch job looks just right to me.
