Ok, I've been watching some of the replies. I've seen alot of recommendations for 91% alcohol. Sounds reasonable.
All my prior success has been with Chameleon, or brake fluid. While grocery shopping with SWMBO, I saw something. 99% alcohol.

Well I thought, if 91% is good, than 99% had to be better, right?

I had a shell to strip, so I figured, lets time this? 1 hour elapsed. No change, model felt "sticky" to the touch. !
1 and 1/2 hours, Paint feels a little soft, can be moved by a stiff brush so I started scrubbing.

2 hours now into it, paint coming off ,lettering not!

Now I notice that areas that had been scrubbed clean, paint flakes were adhereing to, making more work!!

Thats it, time to go to old reliable.
Added about 4 ounces of DOT3 brake fluid. after a breif (15 minute) soak, paint started coming off easily and staying off!

Once I got it all cleaned and the shell rinsed, I saved my concoction for later use. I gotta try again. see if this "mix" of alcohol and Dot3 is actually the best of both??

Pictures of the bottle, the "victim" and the shell after the 2 hour point are attached.
Question to you guys swearing by alcohol? How long do you usually let it soak?
