Not sure what to classify it. Any way, this is N scale and the portion of the table shown is 97" long X 30" wide. The building is a distrubution wherehouse, and where the three tracks to the right of it are will be a 2 bay locomotive repair shop. That part of it will change slightly when I get the building and get it built, then the track can be adjusted accordingly. As it is, the right most track is too close to the main line track there. That track will be for parking a loco. The only other thing is the switch leading off to the repair facility, has the switch draw bar on the left where it will be tight fitting a ground throw. I need to get one of atlas's custom switches that can be connected from either side and my lhs is out of them, so will have to order online and wait. So, other than those two things, I think that this is what I want. Just thought I'd throw this pic up for those of you who need something to look at and comment on. :D Thanks for looking, and comments are welcome.

I find myself wondering why you did certain things the way you did. the conclusion that I came to is that you are just laying track as you go with no real design or focus. This will eventually bite you.

Now there are two roads here and I'm not going to try to convince you to go one way or the other. You can continue on with the course of laying track as you get the urge and eventually, you will decide you've hit a dead end (most likely because you'll wish you had a consistent theme) and you'll decide to rip it up.

It would be cheaper and you will get further if you work out a plan that fits your vision of how you want to run. People on this board will help, if you post your plan and ask.

That said, the third track over from the left creates an "S-curve" no matter which way you switch the turnout. If you are looking for a runaround, think smooth and straight wherever possible.

Thanks for the response SpaceMouse. What my plan is here, is at the far end as you see it, I want to bring a freight off the mainline, from there I want sidings where these cars can be spotted to, and also have a run to the wherehouse and a repair/maint. facility at that far end. I'm having trouble getting the track plan to achieve this. As you say, i'm laying track, changing it, also using Xtrcad to try and come up with something that looks good to me. So any help to achieve what I'm wanting to do is appreciated. Thanks.
