Rapido ABBA E8 Locomotive team

The second E8B unit arrived today. After programming all four units to operate the same, I assembled a Union Pacific passenger train and MUd the four locos together.

Great layout scenes, great passenger train and I love the diesels. The closing scene at the crossing was a great way for the video to end. Well done.

Are the cars from any one manufacturer, or are they from whichever source works best?
I remember the good old days when we tried to block all the light spilling out from under the front of the locomotives from the headlight, because it looked "toylike". Now, we're adding the light back in, as a "feature", to make it look more realistic.

I always like the UP's use of multiple EB units in an operating set. I just wish any of the roads I sort of model did that.

CB&Q would generally run EA's back-to-back, but also sometimes elephant style. They had some E7B's, but I can't remember if they had E8B's or E9B's.

I don't think there was cast in cement standard for running them. I always liked the appearance of the ABBA setup.

Nice. I haven't had a bad anything out of Rapido. They're top dollar but worth it. The E's for my COLA are Walthers and run fine. My Rapido PA's and RS-11's are top notch locos.

I did not know that. I knew they had 1B from pre E designations (9907B), and three E5Bs (silver mate, silver power, and silver comet), but didn't know they had anything newer.
