on you tube i hear sound from rolling stoc,k rails clicking and and metal sounds, does anyone know exactly they do this is it just putting a special decoder in there? which one if so?

The easiest way to get clicking is having spaces between the rails where they are joined, say a sixteenth of an inch or so.

On my DC layout I use 2 diff. MRC sound systems that have rail clack. They also have a volume control.

Having gaps between the rails is spot on, and generally you'll have this anyway so that a short circuit in one block doesn't take out the rest of your layout. In case it wasn't obvious you'll also need metal wheels to get the sound, plastic ones won't do it.

Some of my sound equipped locos have the clickety clack sound on a function button.
