Spotted this odd engine this morning near Cin-Day Rd in West Chester, OH. The engine has no markings other than the number board of 2017. Looked like a mash up of 4 different engines. Any ideas??

Why jump on the bandwagon, when you can ride the Short Bus?

I believe it is a RailPower Hybrid/Genset demonstrator of some type. The hood looks to be railpower. Road number 2017 doesn’t come up on Google though.

Certainly has the Railpower nose. I believe those are Blomberg "M-II" trucks, which is unusual for Railpower. They usually go with GE trucks.

Probably an experimetal with hybrid diesel generator/battery. UP has or had one, somewhat similar cab and nose. BNSF got hold of one and has been doing experimenting with Hydrogen cells. (bottom of page). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Railpower_GG20B.

This one appears to have radiators, so an IC engine likely. The 2017 number looks suspiciously as using the build year as a road #.
