Howdy guys, I'm a newbie here, and new to model railroading. I am planning a small diorama for a Shay. I purchased two laser cut wood structures and was wondering which glues you guys are using for wood. Thanks in advance.

Elmers wood glue is designed to bond wood together. Apply it and clamp the pieces together till dry. They need to be clamped together not just laying on or next to each other.

For attaching HO scale lumber, I use the Gorilla Glue (CA glue). That is what I use for almost everything. Sometimes I reinforce the joints with JB weld epoxy, if I plan on keeping the model for several years or moving the model around.

The reason for using this glue is it makes a tight bond and works quickly, so I don't have to worry about the pieces shifting after the 60 seconds. I usually apply a small amount of glue to each surface.
