I had my loco at the train show layout today and it was really funny how it didn't work at all. The funny thing was what it did do. The loco would keep beeping and the lights flashed. Never seen this before. So, the only thing I can think of what the decoder changes I made to it with Decoder pro. So I got it home to test and maybe reset the decoder if it needed but when I set-up my DCC system and tested it the loco worked fine. I have Digitrax here like the layout at the show. The loco is a Broadway limited with a digitrax decoder. The loco has a sound decoder in it so I didn't add the sound bug from Digitrax to this one.

Any ideas on what's the problem.

Thanks,
Dave

According to my Digitrax manual, you should check for shorts, and the motor is isolated. It also says that the lights blinking is also a sign of a decoder trying to process advanced speed step packets, when it's set up for 14. The latter sounds more like what you're experiencing.

I think hte problem was a short on the layout because today it was fine and I heard they had done a lot of work on the layout in the morning. I didn't have any cars to build and run a train but I'm glad to see it's not my loco.
