I found the mother lode of lichen while out hunting the other day. Is there a way to preserve the stuff. Years ago I found some and brought it home but it just dried out and disintegrated. I am hoping there is something that can be sprayed on to preserve the stuff.
You need to soak it in a mix of water and commercial-grade glycerin. There's an excellent article on how to do this at
http://www.pc-technology.com/user/railroad/tips/lichen/. Just be prepared to spend a lot of time picking assorted forest junk out of it before it's ready for processing.
Thank you. Much appreciated.
