Back in the late 60's and 70's the U.S. Navy transported rocket motors for the Polaris and Poseidon submarine-launched ballistic missiles on trains using a TruckAndRailVan, called a TARVAN. Does anyone have an idea what these rail vans looked like? I am NOT talking about the rail cars used to transport the Solid Rocket Booster segments for the NASA SLS NASA launch vehicle. The motors for the Polaris/Poseidon were considerably smaller than the SRB segments. I wonder if some of the HO scale coil cars could be modified, but I'd have to know what the originals looked like to get close. I worked on the systems as an engineer, but never saw the TARVAN's, only heard about them.

Not sure. Those look a little long for Polaris missile motors. More likely for Minuteman or possibly SLS SRB segments. Appreciate it, though.
Stay well and safe!
