Railroad Prototype Modelers

For all you train modelers in the north Texas area that have been wanting a prototype modelers meet, it's time to get your models ready to show off. The meet will be the same weekend as the annual Plano Train Show but is not connected to or a part of that show. It was planned for this weekend for the convenience of the modelers making the trip here for the show to help cut down on travel. Even if you are not planning on going to the Plano Show, here is your chance to get together with modelers that share your interest - building prototype models. This is the first (known) prototype meet in the area so now is the time for all you modelers to come out and let us now your around and meet others who share the interest of building models. Models do not have to be complete. Show your work-in-progress models and what all you are doing to it/them. Bring as many as you want, any scale, any era, steam, diesel, freight, intermodal, vehicles, structures, dioramas. We want to see you and your models.

The details:

- Plano Prototype Modelers Meet

- Saturday Jan. 14th 2006

- 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM

- Holiday Inn Express East - 700 Central Parkway East - the Collin Creek Room

- Admission: $10.00 to browse, point and critique (without any models you built) $5.00 to show off and boast about your work

Clinics - None. This is the first year for a prototype meet in the area and not knowing what kind of turn out there will be, wouldn't be right to have someone spend time putting together a presentation and no one show up. Just too many unknowns. A slide projector and screen will be available should someone show up with slides to show.

Vendors - None. Go to the Plano Train Show first. It opens at 10:00 AM.

Manufacturers - None. Well, none pushing their products. This meet has been arranged by Plano Model Products but not just to get you in to buy their products. They will not have literature or products set out. Yes you can discuss the products if you wish, but not required. Other product lines can be discussed too...

Suggestions for future get togethers will be requested and welcomed.
